Monthly Speakers

Many of the monthly meetings have themed speakers.  These speakers may talk about agriculture events, restoration, trips and tours they have taken, and other events that can broaden the interests and knowledge of the club membership.

Tours and Events

Throughout the year, the Central Illinois Green Club organizes trips to museums, manufacturing facilities, farms, and tractor collections.

Ride the River

Ride the River was started in conjunction with Kankakee Community College to fund scholarships college students studying agriculture and horticulture.  Typically Ride the River is held every two years. Usually there are approximately 100 riders and dozens of sponsors for each of the rides that have been held.  The first Ride the River was in 2008 and since then the proceeds of the ride have allowed the Central Illinois Green Club to raised over $37.000.00 for students. Beginning in 2014, Ride the River proceeds will be going directly to local Future Farmers of America Chapters.  This established our commitment to give back to the community, and help students with a desire to continue their studies in agriculture and horticulture. Please see the Ride The River main page to for more information on the most current ride and previous rides.
